Movement Ties
Debonding sleeves are used on plain-ended wall ties at vertical movement joints that abut columns. The tie will restrain the masonry against lateral wind loads but the sleeve will allow the masonry to expand or contract.
Movement Tie for use in vertical movement joints. Ancon has developed movement ties for use with cellular clay blockwork, where the horizontal bed joints are just 1mm. They are manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel and are suitable for use in housing and commercial applications.
Ancon has developed an innovative range of frame cramps for use with cellular clay blockwork. These include the Ancon CCB-L200 an abutment tie for connecting perimeter walls to dividing walls and the Ancon CCB-SMJ-200 a movement tie for fixing back to steelwork and existing masonry.

Debonded ties should be installed with a 10mm gap at the end of the sleeve to allow for expansion of the masonry.
